Dream

It was always a dream to play. Now that I married a piano player, I have all the opportunities. Am I playing? No. Excuses, excuses. Posted by Picasa

What is ordinary? It depends on which angle you capture it. Try it with life. It works. Posted by Picasa

The Drummer

I want to be just like this drummer boy. Full of energy, enjoying the moment. Ah, what a life! Posted by Picasa

Wild Wild Flowers

A wet summer brings in a ton of wild flowers and allergy symptoms. But having these wild flowers in view is worth all those sneezing. Yes, nothing is free in life.

Sunset Blues

My photography teacher said that the first rule in photography is: have your camera ready! I followed her advice and brought my camera to the golf course. I got a glimpse of this sunset as we were playing the 18th hole. I guess life is the same. Be ready. You never know. Anything can happen. When you are ready, you jump in and start a new life, or a better life.

Thrill

This is the modern day adrenaline rush. I wonder what would that be in the stone age? Meeting a tiger on your way home?

Survival

On certain days, this is how I feel like, hanging at the edge of the cliff.

Fish Bone

The catch of the day was not this fallen tree trunk. It was a herd of Elk about 50 yards to the right of this tree. With my tiny digital camera, I was not able to feast on capturing images of those lovely animals. I settled for this "fish bone" in front of me. A good souvenir from this summer.

Spectator

We are all spectators in life. The problem is, we can see other people's drama but not our own.

An Opening

Someone said that the eyes are the window to our soul. I forgot the details about it. This opening of a hot spring is probably a window to this earth where we live in. If we don't take good care, this earth will erupt, and the whole civilization will end. Posted by Picasa

Fire

Fire is a double edged sword. It can warm us up in the middle of winter. It can also cause a massive destruction. But somehow if I change the way I look at things, after a destruction, there can still be simplicity, beauty and peace. Yellowstone is a good example. Posted by Picasa

Thin Air

At 9,000 ft elevation, I was catching my breath while climbing a short hill. A glimpse of these dead trees reminded me about our limited lifespan. Another way to remind myself to be present and enjoy each moment.

"To Galaxy and beyond..." Life on earth is not too different from space travel. We are heading into the unknown. Both exciting and scary. Posted by Picasa

Solitude

I enjoy this morning hours by myself, just like this old and burned tree trunk in the middle of the hot spring. A sign of aging? Maybe. At middle age, I savor it.

Anger

I noticed recently that my angry thoughts have been pouring out like this tons of falling water. It can be destructive. I am watching it and releasing it.

Root

They said that the pines in Yellowstone are special. Their roots grow wide and not deep. Therefore, they can survive the hard lava soil in this area.

Sometimes I wonder why certain people can survive certain job or lifestyle. I guess that is because we are all different. We have certain characteristics that fit certain situation...

Alone

Sometimes life can really be lonely. It feels like we are surrounded by rocks. But if we frame it from a different perspective, it can be beautiful.

The Rock

On our way to Big Sky, Montana, we could not help but stop and admire this beautiful and winding river. This is a rock in the middle of the river. Firm. Strong. Resisting the push of the water flow. It could represent anyone of us, struggling to stand still in this chaotic world!

Carved

This valley/canyon was carved by the flow of a hot lava from the volcanic eruption.

Today, it is a master piece.

Lone Mountain, Big Sky, Montana

It took a tree high ski lift ride to come to this view. I was a bit scared on that suspended lift. But it is worth it.

They say "Life is an adventure". I agree.
